About Vili V
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ont. – one of Canada’s musical hotspots — singer-songwriter Vili V (Vili Verhovsek) is an alchemist blending adult contemporary, Americana and lyric-based genres. His voice is at once powerful and tender, with singular depth and expression.
Vili first emerged in the ‘90s, putting his spin on nostalgic pop music of the 20th Century. In 1996, amid a field of industry veterans, he placed first at the largest Elvis festival in world, based in Collingwood, Canada. Around that time, he also made the top ten at the YTV Achievement Awards. Read more…

Heading to the U.S.
Hello all, there are some new and exciting developments coming up in Vili Land. In my ongoing production of the music of Roy Orbison, I will be heading to Mocksville, North Carolina, in 2016 for at show at the Brock Center for the Performing Arts. I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and fans, and connecting with the wonderful folks down there. Coming up this year on Saturday, Aug. 22, Shades of Roy will run at the Backstage Capitol Theatre in Delhi, Ont. A little known fact: Roy Orbison himself actually performed in Delhi not far from the theatre, so it’s a coming home of sorts. Get your tickets at backstagecapitol.com Also, we had an amazing time on May 29 at the Stirling Festival Theatre in Stirling, Ont. Two great shows were had. Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Stirling Festival Theatre and the fans who came out!

The musical extravaganza that is the Grammys aired Sunday night, with its mix of established artists and new faces. And like 25 million or so other people, I tuned in to check out the performances and see who was honoured. Among the legends that took the stage, I was excited to see Tom Jones still performing at age 74. The Welsh wailer has a powerful, distinctive voice, and the song he sang with Jessie J – You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling – is a classic. It reminded me of Elvis’s version, one of my favourites because he sounds like he’s pouring the pain in his heart right into the microphone. And of course, the original 1964 Righteous Brothers version showcases their soulful voices along with producer Phil Spector’s trademark “wall of sound” treatment. I was most happy and surprised that Beck won in the album of the year category for Morning Phase, a record that creates an otherworldly feel with its contemplative lyrics. My favourite song […]
